Importing audio files from itunes

In the loop construction dialog box I show my itunes file to be an mpeg 4 format. When I try to drag and drop it to my project track I get the error window stating 'unable to find or load file'. I am having no trouble getting the files from my itunes account over to Sonar for importing. Mpeg is a supported file format. Any suggestions?

Could DRM be coming into play? I.E., Are the files you are trying to bring in protected?

Jinga's right. It's the DRM. There are ways to get around it. I wouldn't use the itunes store to buy mp3s. You can buy the same mp3 at Amazon without any copy protection, and better quality (higher bit rate)

Here's an easy way to get around itunes DRM. You have to waste a CD, but it's worth it. Burn your itunes songs as an Audo CD, then rip the CD.

SONAR doesn't support the import mp4 files, the m4a files that iTunes uses for 'tunes' are just the audio part of the general mp4 format.

You will have to convert using a third party program before it will import into SONAR. I use Sound Forge but there should be a freeware utility somewhere that will do it.

Convert to mp3 or wav, for example.
