[Track] October

Think I finally managed to sort my audio glitching problems when tracking. I moved the project from my dedicated audio drive back to my C drive & no more glitches. Go figure.

Back in business so I thought I'd post this one just completed (apart from vocal). Imported the drums from reaper, then did the synths and guitars in P5 & the arrangement in the GM. Then back out to reaper to track the bass and mix.

I used Psyn, Dimension and the BassStation on this. Big ups again to Psyn. It's an ugly little mother and I can't drive it worth a sh1t but damn it's got some nice presets.

Very interesting mix of sounds. Heavy metal but with all kinds of nice electro sounds mixed in. I really like the synth break in the middle. Nice beat, guitar and bass and drums. What more to say?

it was ok. It kind if had this "mess" quality to it like there are three sounds going on at once all doing there on thing but not really working well together. Has some great ideas that I tihnnk need some more fleshing out.

This track sounds 'Live'....... if you know what i mean??!! Back-room funk up jam.........

Really good listen and kinda 'messy' as ATS said, giving it that 'Live' feel

AT - Thanks for checking it out, cheers man

ATS - Heh yeah I did some pitch shifting on the drums mix and got some unusual results, so I tried it on the guitar & might have got a bit carried away! Thanks for the listen

Prevalence - Yeah I kinda like things a little chaotic. Thanks for the feedback Paul

    BH,

To my ears the piece sounds improvised which gives it that live sound. My reaction to the piece is similar to my first reaction to some of Dream Theater's stuff the first I heard it (not that this sounds like DT, but the structure is similar). Structurally and rythmically, things bounce around some. It certainly doesn't follow a traditional ABABC pattern, but I didn't find that problematic.

I thought the mix sounded nice and punchy. Nice to hear something besides electronica come out of P5 for a change.

ecamburn - Yeah everything is jammed over the drum loops I imported. I then just snipped the best bits out & dropped them in the matrix. Thanks for the post Eric, I appreciate it

Organized chaos - I like it. I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was a fun listen and, as ecamburn mentioned, definitely different than we usually hear coming out of P5. The production is very good and the combination of sounds works pretty well. It definitely sounds live!

I had to go back an listen to your track again because I originally listened at work........and I missed a lot of your content.........

I really like the way you wrapped the announcer in with the guitar theme and kept the interplay going then hit us with a break only to do it again and just when you think your going to here the same thing you come back with a expanded message............

I liked it better the second time around.........I think a third is in order............

    nice job

I'll have to give this one a pass - not my bag. I did hear elements of Jethro Tull in there, but then I wasn't into him either. Kudos though for blazing your own trail. :)

Truckermusic - Hey thanks for the return. The extra vocal content was added later, so your ears weren't deceiving you first time around...

burkek - No worries man. Lol, I don't think Tull was a guy, more of a collective. Interesting comparison though, haven't had that one before. Thanks for the spin
