OT: Best software for creating tutorials?
Hi All- I'd like to do some video tutorials -- not very sophisticated stuff, just click this, that, and the other with a voice-over. I don't need to record any audio coming from the app. Any recommendations? Thanks- -Susan

Captivate by Adobe or Camtasia by Techsmith are probably 2 of the most popular ones. I think most of the video training series you see out there where they are demoing a software package are done with Camtasia. HTH Dave

Camtasia Studio is widely used. I think something like version 5 is available, but if you poke around you might be able to download version 3 and get a product key for free, as a fully functioning, non-expiring demo. That might do everything you need. Their intent, of course, is to entice you to upgrade to the latest version.

I just checked, and they aren't offering version 3 for free anymore. Sorry. They do have a 30-day trial, though.

Hi mose- Thanks, but I really didn't have a chance to look into it this past weekend anyway. I saw some Adobe Flash Player Tutorials, which I assume were created by Captivate, and those were pretty cool as well. I'll check them both out next chance. Thanks- -Susan
