Sound Card Issues and Sonar 6

So i've installed Sonar 6 on my computer. I've been trying to rewire reason and run EZdrummer vst through sonar but no sound comes out. Reason is working on its own though without Sonar. Any suggestions? A friend is sure it's the sound card. I have a Sigmatel sound card right now. It came with the computer. Any suggestions on a sound card upgrade. Something that wont break the bank. Thanks.

EXdrummer doesnt need to be rewired. Insert it as a soft synth, like dim pro or Rapture.
    Are you using 64bit OS??
Read up on inserting sift synths is you havent already. Its a good read

No, the problem is the Sigmatel Soundcard. Does not support 24 bit audio.
You could try it with ASIO4all.

    sigmatel sound card

Is that even recognised by Sonar

My laptop has one of them

If I recall, Sonar rejected it.

Have a look at all these and work out your budget and needs. If you like, you can narrow it down to a few and ask for advice.

Thanks guys for the advice. Strikinglyhandsome...I'm not working on to much of a budget, mainly just want to program some drums out. I'm using fruity loops and reason also for programming, I just wanted more of a "realistic" touch. So which one of the sound cards do you thing would suffice. I might do a little guitar recording too. Mainly for scratch tracks though.

If you look on that site you can press Price on the page I gave you

    I'd be looking around £60-70

    An example:

As you can see there are cheaper, simpler devices but I personally wouldn't touch them

So you have installed Sonar 6 on your computer NOW, when 8 is out. You have Sonar (6), that is aparrently so fresh you don't know how to use/ configure it!, EZdrummer, Fruityloops, Reason and no decent soundcard. And the new soundcard has to be cheap?

    I smell bittorrent here...

No it wasn't a bit torrent. Thanks, though. By the way thanks for the advise strikenlyhandsome, the m-audio fast track solved my problems. Now if I could just get my korg padKontrol to work.
