usb interface question

Hope someone can help with this question. I want to record digital audio with MC4 via a yamaha keyboard, i have been recording MIDI tracks and (thanks to you guys on here) just about got the hang of it. I've been told that the M- AUDIO FASTRACK usb interface would be a good choice for me, is this bit of gear any good and is is COMPATABLE with mc4/

Any help, much appreciated, thanks in advance

Dave - the fasttrack is a decent starter card. the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have phantom power available if you intend to use a condensor mic. condensor mics are used for recording many things and give a much more warmer sound to the recording - vocals are very often recorded with a large diaphram condensor mic.

if you don't plan to use a condensor mic for now - you could start with this and plan to upgrade later if you need to.

my website has information on this card and others if you're interested.

Thanks for the reply beagle. i checked your site very helpful ,one thing i forget to ask though, regarding the fastrack interface; it seems to be geared to guitars and i want to connect a keyboard , could i connect a yamaha psr295 and record digtal audio via mc4.?

Yes, that will work fine (I have the PSR-293). Just use the LINE input on the fasttrack - guitars use the GUITAR/INSTRUMENT input.
