generic control surface

how do I add the control surface to mc4. With sonar le I click on options and its right below drum map manager, in
mc4 I click options there is no control surface option. it says drum map manager then menu editor and menu layouts. no control surface. I want to set my faders and knobs. any suggestions on making this appear?

IIRC that's a feature that's not available in MC. SHS allows Control Surface, but I believe MC does not.

unless someone else corrects me and says that control surfaces are indeed a function in MC, then no, you can't without upgrading to SHS.

I remember during the MC3 days someone asked me if I would verify that their control surface would open in my SHS4 because they didn't want to upgrade if it didn't work but they knew it didn't work in MC.

dang it. well, I know it has it in sonar le. Im lacking some files in le that happened during installation. same happened with mc4. I recently uninstalled mc4 and reinstalled it full and it is working great except for the generic control surface. Ive created a bunch of songs on sonar le that play on mc4 too. I want to uninstall sonar le and reinstall it as a whole and see if it fixed le. Im afraid that I will lose all the songs I created in sonar le if I do this. or would mc4 hold on to those files and thgey could still be opened with mc even though I didnt create them in it? Basically, if I get rid of sonar le, would I lose my songs created in it?

Loading and re-loading the program has no effect on the song files. The program and the data for midi and wave files for audio are all stored in different places, and the program re-load does not automatically erase or alter the songs.
