Remix right? Please let me know....

OK, I've been working a lot on this one with all of the feedback I got on here last week & I think I've improved it. Please let me know what you think.

Listening to on my studio monitors. The only thing I might suggest is bringing the bass up for a little more of that 'oomph'. I cranked up the volume on the speakers and wanted to hear that driving bass tone. That's just my personl preference, that's all. Other than that, everything else sounds really good.

Thanks, Larry. I struggled with that. I am trying to get better with the compression to make the volume level throughout the bass track. It's not very loud in the mix, but I can't take it any higher without clipping. I'll give it another shot.

Thanks for responding. I don't mean to be so high-maintenance. I was beginning to think I got blacklisted with all my questions....

This sounds nicely blended and balanced I'd like a lil' bit more oomph at the bottom end too but apart from that this track is sounded pretty sweet all in all.

One thing I don't like though is the short decay on the ride and crash cymbals do you use MC or Sonar?

Either way you should be able to use the SFZ soundfont player and there is a kit here which I believe has better sounding cymbals than the ones you have presently.

Just a thought as I was listening, I guess it won't hurt to check 'em out.

Anyway I wish I'd have been this far forward with my mixing given the amount of time you've been around here and its sounding good to me.

Josh - sounds better than the previous version, and I agree with Larry on turning up the bass a bit.

Despite any tweaks the song may need, it's a good song and a solid demo take as is.

Thanks, jonbouy. Being a guitar guy, drums & vocals always give me fits. It takes me so long to do drum tracks, some songs never get completed! I'm always looking for better ways to do my drums.

This one sounds good on some systems & bad on others. It's confusing.

Taylor_514C - One of the things I have started doing based on some advice from this forum is listening to my fav commercial recordings & figuring out why I like them. Usually it's because of big drum & bass sounds. I think I might rerecord the bass track so I'll be able to turn it up.

Bass thing for sure. I thought the drums could use a little more compression, and the lead guitar a little more seperation, it may need to have the EQ changed to differentiate a bit. Perhaps double track the lead.

The vocals sounded good. Maybe even a little more power on the harmony.

It's pretty close actually but a couple of tweaks might really light it up. Good work.

Thanks Daryl. It sounds like I'll be rerecording the bass part. I'm still learning compression & EQ.

    Overall sounds real good.
Cymbals and hi hat stick out a little to me.
Also the solo git is a tad small compared to the rest.
But otherwise, a nice, catchy pop song.

I feel your pain with the mixing and rums, etc but you've got a great song here. Great playing and singing. I'm afraid I can't add anything to help with the mix except I'd have to agree about the cymbals and hi hat being a little bit too prominent. But I like the song and I'm sure you've put a lot of work into it!!

Josh, Really nice job on this. I liked the guitar and the wah-wah, reminds me of the good old days. The mix was very nice, but like Larry suggested about the bass coming up a tad would be awesome. The vocals were kind of hard to understand at times, and you may bring them up just a tad as well. This is just an opinion, but believe me, I have a tendency to do the same thing. I think it has something to do with uploading and having the original file converted to a streaming file. Anyway, great song with a great sound to it. Thanks for sharing. Blessings!! John
