Nomad Factory Producer Pack $499 Any Good?

http://www.dontcrack.com/discounts.php

Looks like they are running a big sale through dontcrack.com now. I searched for the most recent posts here but that was back in 2006. Back then most people thought the plugins looked great but didn't sound so good and there was also the issue of PACE.

Any current thoughts on the new Nomad Factory stuff?

most authors of novels regarded as classics are dead, classic novels are, therefore, most likely to be written by dead people.

I'm slightly familiar with a few of their products. I don't own any, but they're used in one of the studios I work with so I've had some experience with them, but not all of them -- they make a lot of things.

There's a Blue Tube line of EQ and dynamics processor emulations -- specialty stuff like Pultec and Bandaxall, Fairchild and UAD. These aren't bad -- much better than the Antress emulations, but you'd expect that for the price. If you're into emulators, then you'll like them.

There's also a line of "Liquid II" effects that I know -- chorus, flange, phasers, reverb, etc. The BlueVerb 2080 reverb emulator is very nice, maybe the best thing they do that i've used. This is well worth adding to your arsenal. And their mastering tools have a good rep, though I've never used them.

I guess I'd say that their stuff is well made and sounds good, but there's nothing about them that gets me excited (except perhaps the verb). Also, they have never given me a problem in Sonar.

One more thing: they offer challenge/response authentication, meaning that they run without dongles, afaik. Also, I understand they do the effects for other synth makers, for instance, the Spectrasonics Stylus RMX effects are done by Nomad Factory.

If you have the $500 to spend, you won't be buying junk. You'll have to decide what it's worth to you. If you run a pro studio, then time is money. If you, like me, do this to relax, then there's nothing here that can't be done with any other collection of pro plugins, including the Sonitus package shipped with Sonar Pro.

    Hi
I've had the Blue Tubes bundle (all three) for a couple of years now.
I use a couple of them quite a lot.
I think most of the plug ins are not bad, some good. I mainly use the compressor and echo (delay) plug ins.
For what I paid, which I think was about 350ish through Don't Crack, I recon they were good value.
