Where did my menus go?!

Just fired up Sonar 8 for the first time in a few days and the main menu bar has only two items (Options and Help), and the only item on the Options menu is "Menu Editor...".

I assume I've managed to blow away some kind of init file. Anybody know which file that is and (ideally) wherre I can find a copy of the defaults?

Try to uninstal than re-instal Sonar, maybe it will fix the problem.

It's a bad menuxml file in my experience.

    Copy C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cakewalk\SONAR 8 Producer Edition\SONARdefaultmenus.xml to C:\Documents and Settings\<nmyusername>\Application Data\Cakewalk\SONAR 8 Producer Edition\SONARdefaultmenus.xml

You may want to rename/move any existing XML files in the <myusername> location first.

    Bingo!

... but with a slight adjustment. The actual location was

    C:\[...]\SONAR 8 Producer Edition\Menuxml\SONARdefaultmenus.xml

Thanks heaps. I hope this helps someone else, too.

I wonder who/what corrupted the file (it looked like pure binary, not xml)...
