Sonar 8 PE crash: on just a midi loop?

So this morning i was playing around with a MIDI loop out to an external hardware box (Roland Fantom XR) and it crashed
-Sonar disappears but MIDI monitor is left in systray
-CTRL-ALT-DEL shows SONARPDR.exe still running

After scratching my head, I unplugged everything USB/fw from the computer including:
-M-Audio Trigger Finger
-RME FF800
-Fantom XR
-Access Virus TI
-USB Midisport 8x8

...and voila, the SONARPDR was gone from task manager. I could again launch Sonar.
I have two questions for the board:
1.) If sonar crashes, where are logfiles or dumps stored in WINXP?
2.) What drivers are others seeing crashes like this?

thanks

That info is in one of the sticky posts: ie about how to record a system crash dump.

The midisport MIDI driver hanging on and not letting go of SONAR is a common problem. Its a driver issue that's been reported on here a few times.
The behaviour can occur even without a SONAR crash and the quick way to fix it is to disconnect the Midisport then close SONAR.
