Great bass tip!

Gentlemen:

Steinberg Virtual Bassist has some great effects presets including, drive, EQ, flanging, chorusing, fuzz, compression, reso, octaver, mic placement and speaker choices, all tailored specifically for bass - but the tool only has a range of one octave.

I've discovered that you can use the effects section separately. So you can load up Kontakt and trigger it with any MIDI data no matter what the range and use the VB effects in that track.
