Hey Steve - thanks for posting your test. So Podfarm is using more RAM than Gearbox - that makes sense actually.

No problem Doug - it's not really that 'scientific', I just borrowed a project for an hour!

I know what I did forget to do though - I didn't run the test using POD Farm with Dual Input set, maybe another time. I'd expect the CPU to jump up again though.

Thanks for your benchmark test, Steve!

It makes sense that PodFarm uses more RAM (what with the fancy graphics'n'all). I typically only use the mono version of GearBox to save stereo space, since my mixes tend to get cluttered up enough anyway. Would be nice if the next revision of PodFarm included a mono option to save CPU and retain their competitive edge (one of the reasons I generally reach for GearBox [mono] instead of Guitar Rig is the much lower CPU demand).

I agree Sven - the mono option would have been nice.

I completely forgot to test the POD Farm in dual-input mode though, now that'll eat up some cycles

May have found a bug in PodFarm!

When using the VST version of both GearBox and PodFarm I typically turn down the 'input' knob so that the signal won't be too hot and distort. However the position of the knob doesn't seem to be saved together with the SONAR project!

Hi Sven

Same here - the Input and Output levels in the GearBox plug are saved though.

It's a bit like in the standalone version of GearBox where the 'global' settings like 'monitor volume' and 'recording level' are not saved with a project but stay the same whichever preset is opened.

Might be worth reporting it to Line 6 - they seem to update their stuff quite regularly.

Unless that's how they designed it of course.
