Thanks Herb and Frank, again it's all based on construstive feedback. When you think something is done, you've only looked at it from your perspective, and after 2 or 3 people say, "Dude!?" you have to ask yourself, are they all wrong? :-) Of course I normally answer YES!! SCREW UM! But in this case? I took everyone's advise.

This is much better! I think you've done really well on this.

Just to stay honest, tho, my personal opinion is that Calista's vocals are still phasy sounding which I don't prefer myself, but that's just my opinion.

I really love the song - it's excellently written and the performances by everyone is excellent!

Thanks Reece,

I was in fact trying to give Calista the "Calista Flockheart treatment" (trying to fatten her up a bit). There are in fact, multiple copies of her going on even when it's just one part, some moved a weence this way, or effected slightly differently, so that did contribute to the phasy effect you wre commenting on. I may have done if differently if I could have recorded her here at Smiladon through the U87/Avalon vt737 or ua610 signal chain, but I had to make the most of what I had so I got "creative" :-)

It's good to be consistent, but it's FUN to try diffent things! Thanks for listening again and for your kind words.

Vocals are fine but need to be more upfront as she has a nice voice we want to be able to hear it a bit more! nice song lyrics seemed to be drowned out a bit. but beautiful voice and song is well done guys.

I'm late to this, but this is a very nice song, and the production is very good. Sounds to me like the intensity fades a little right at or after the key change, which for me was somewhat anticlimactic. The strings sound truncated at the very end as well; IMHO, they should fade with the piano decay.

Other than that, a great collaboration. Congratulations to all involved!

To much time is spent on the overall production of things, and how things are done, instead of the bottom line : "THE SONG"...........

I know that sounds crazy but : "You either like it or you don't". The reason I say that is because if you were sitting around a campfire and someone played a song then : You either liked it or you didn't, that's where music counts, real moments and all this anti-production stuff is nothing but bologna, and I hope I spelled that right!

Music is an expression of moments in time like John Mellancamp said in one of his songs : "Moments in time we share together". And you can spend too much time on the production side of things.

What's wrong with just wanting to be heard sometimes? When I post anything that's what I am trying to do, maybe that will explain a few things. Perfection is something that is a RICH PERSON'S problem. I wish it were mine for my family, but it's not!
This was a GREAT PERFORMANCE, and MIXDOWN and I like it a lot! Excellent expressions on all counts!!!!

Thanks for the listen all who were involved!

Bobby

Thanks Bobby, "To much time is spent on the overall production of things, and how things are done, instead of the bottom line : "THE SONG"........... "

I would respectfully disagree, it is an art to arrange and produce, just as it is an art to play an insturment. I wish I were a better producer, I'm still learning.
