which digital connection for UX 2 to connect Edirol MA 15

Well after taking the advice of Steve, I'm going to go for the MA15 linked up to my UX2. I notice that there is a digital connector on the back of the UX2 and also that the Edirol's take a digital input.
What lead should I buy? Is it coaxial?

    Dave, I use a S/PDIF co-ax cable, cost about $25/£15

Dave, don't be afraid to do a bit of research before you get your monitors though - the Edirols are nice but they are specifically designed as near-field monitors.

In other words, they are best used at close range when space is at a premium - this they do very well in my opinion.

However, if space isn't a problem for you, it might be prudent to get some monitors with bigger cones - then you can sit back a bit and work with those bigger bass tones from a distance.

    Hi Steve
    Thanks for the advice.
I have very litle room which is why I wanted to try to use the PC speakers and my internal sound card. I think I am going to have to just switch between the sound cards . I can do this in device manager. I must try to find out why i get this increased speed in sounds when I switch back. I manage toi cure it by resetting the Soundblaster defaults and it seems to be Ok. The pod was showing up as High Def sound i think I have to disable that when I switch back or there is some conflict between the two I think. I'm hoping to check out some monitors at Music Live this Saturday. I really need to re organise my work space. and try to be a bit more efficient in my use of the available space. This is the problem of not having a loft.
    cheers

Dave, that's sensible - keep your options open until you decide which is the best path for you to take.

I think I read somewhere else that the 'speed' problems are something to do with the different sampling rates used by your SB card and the default you're probably using in GT3.

SB cards work at 48000Hz and GT3 defaults to 41000Hz - you can set GT3 to sample at 48000, this might help but I'd wait for some more 'informed' input from the guys who really know about soundcards!!
