playback doubles note values?

I am new to using Sonar. I finally figure out how to stop the clicking I was hearing whenever I pressed a note. I now can set up a midi track and attach a dxi synth (NI EWQLSO silver edition) and get it to sound through a MobilePre. Now I am trying to record a line and play it back. I have the metronome set to quarter notes and I am recording a short phrase that is all quarter notes. When I play it back the playback has doubled the length of each note. The progress of the timeline in the editing window mores across the midi display at the correct rate and cuts the playback at the end but since the notes are being doubles only half get played.

I would appreciate any help.

Try reposting this in the sonar forum.
