I thought castlethorpe was up north somewhere.. shows what I know haha. I have the joy(?) of traveling up and down the M1 at least once a week (I'm down the road from MK at the moment).. thankfully it's a just past watford and not further..

if you go on the M1 they are doing a lot of road works at night at the moment last time they shut the junction and I got lost in redbourne for 1.5 hours

Hi Fog, No there are two Castlethorpes in the UK, one is in Lincolnshire, and the one I live in is a village in Buckinghamshire about 6 miles North of Milton Keynes and 9 miles from Northampton, on the Bucks/Northants Border. Local town as opposed to city (MK) is Stony Stratford, home of the famous Cock and Bull stories. Both of which are still hotels and public bars, in which I have frequented the Vaults Bar. part of the Bull hotel, for many years. Their is a great tradition of live music in Stony Stratford and each summer is the home of the growing "Folk on the Green" festival, although in recent years the music has become more varied and eclectic. I can get to the M1 in about 15 mins and often take a detour through Redbourn when going t Hemel Hempstead, no its not fun !!!
