    The core operating system and how it is compiled is very different between the two. It essentially won't run. It' like asking a man who only speaks and reads English to read, speak and understand Chinese. won't work.

    Running on Linux would make it a whole lot faster. However, Cakewalk would have to completely rewrite their code to make it run there. The current code is so slow that it was probably written with a COBOL interpreter. Whatever they wrote it with doesn't seem very portable because the don't have a Linux version or Mac version.
