OT Group Buy for D-16

http://www.d16.pl/classicboxes

Group Buy for Drumazon, Nepheton and Phoscyon. Price at the 100 member point is 102.48 Euros. Great price for all three.

It's at 84 now so 100 looks like a done deal. Great bargain for 808, 909 and 303 clones. There are downloadable demos.......... :)

I'm sorry it's over Dec 10th (Darned logical way the rest of the world writes dates 10-12-08 got me confused. Used to seeing the day after the month.)

Yes Sylenth 1 is a great synth and if the group buy hits bottom it will be a great buy as well. I already own Sylenth so no decision to be made on my part.

It just depend on your needs. Both group buys are great deal. I've always wanted Drumazon and Nepheton.

I'd say take the next few days and demo all the products to see which you will find more useful. Can't go wrong with either buy!

the date thing is confusing to me. we do day - month.. here.. the clue I always check for is there is no 19th month etc.hehe

I guess I have a few days to mess with the demos.. I have many 808 and 909 samples.. so it's the 303 that interests me, but does it interest me enough..thats the problem..

i dunno if you ever used rebirth? they released it free now, although they haven't updated it in a long time

    http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/

although they did a 303 pack for reason which I use.

I'm finding it tuff to find sounds that I don't have in some other form though..esp drum machines and things like rhodes

I also saw a bundle deal on 2 of rob papens synths..
    http://www.robpapen.com/

I notice Mr Rizzo appears again , he's a bit like crystal method.. I see endorsing loads of things.

I have tons of 808 and 909 samples as well. It's the ability to manipulate the sounds in Drumazon and Nepheton that appeals to me. Actually I've already owned Phoscyon once and sold it in favor of other 303 type synths but I'll probably keep it this time. I've tried Rebirth some time ago but don't care too much for ReWire.

Sounds like Sylenth might be a good deal for you then. The Papen deal is awesome as well. Albino is one of my favorites and Blue is highly overlooked in my opinion (you can download a bank of prests I made for Blue here: http://www.robpapen.com/blue-user-preset-banks.html.

Guess you'll just have to demo them all and see what sparks your interest. It's cool that there are so many great deals out there at this time.

I've been watching the d16 GB as well and will most likely be taking advantage. It's currently at 168 folks and approximately 100 Euros - by my calculations, that's about $135 USD, but can any of you finance/currency exchange rate experts confirm this?

Dave www.xe.com is ya friend..haha but since your not in european the taxes don't apply to you.

I did email lennar about the tax on their thing, as recently the VAT (tax) rate has changed in the UK but I'm not 100% sure how it affects imports.

Tek, I was interested in Rob's predator synth.. dunno if you have that? surprised they don't do a bundle of all 3. g-media used to do "future retro" but alas don't now.. that I'd have bought. I see the antaria (?) synth bundle that's also tempting me, but not enough to be honest.hehe

as for the 808 / 909 , have kontakt , and well you can do crazy things in that. Just justifying buying new things takes longer these days.

I guess it goes back to the time when I got ripped off by them superwave people also, so I tread carefully. They released 3 synths that needed an access code, fair enough.. When you want to put it on a new machine, u need a different code, BUT they just vanished and you couldn't get the code. Rare such stupidity happens I know, but it was annoying.

By my calculation at this moment the group buy price stands at 129.19 up from the 127 and a few cents low it was a few days ago. It appears the the Dollar is fluctuating in value against the Euro today so hopefully it will not become any weaker before 10 December.

Still at 130 Dollars US it's a killer deal in my opinion.

Fog, No I don't own Predator and don't think I've ever even tried the demo but I have heard some good things about it. The synths that Rob Papen has commissioned have all been high quality so I'm sure Predator is no exception.

Tek the only thing I didn't like about blue is it uses my cubase dongle also for the license, I'm more a fan of how NI do their thing without the need to having to worry about breaking a dongle.

I didn't realize Rob went Dongle. Oh well LinPlug went Syncrosoft e-licenser until they saw what effect it had on their user base so perhaps Rob will go back to a serial number C/P scheme as well. I own the Pre-Dongled version of Blue, actually it's an NFR copy. I don't do Dongles (which is a big reason I'm here and not at the Cubase Forums )

I don't use Warez, Cracks, or Pirated software of any kind. Never have never will. But if all software went Dongle I would retire. That's how much I hate the concept of Dongles.

Tek, thats been debated here many a time. I use cubase 4 as well and well I'm so used to it, but the dongle is a drag.. I think props got the balance right on that front.. but even then it was annoying in the sense I upgraded my laptop memory.. disk was 30 miles away, it was either a 60 mile trip or wait a day to get someone back home to post it to me. Thankfully the postie's out here are ok, not like in London where the idiot relief postie left $200 worth of films and games on my doorstep for anyone to steal.
