Indabamusic.com- Anybody use this site?

I just heard a story on NPR's Sunday Weekend Edition on internet music making.

Here's a link to the story:From Broadband To Bands Jamming Abroad

They tell about a site where musicians can share projects over the net, ie keyboard players doing session work, somebody looking for a singer. Sounded very cool. I have hooked up with one or two random musicians over the internet, where we shared files, etc. But this is different, sounds like a clearing house where you can post works in progress and invite others to add to it.
Here's a link to the Indaba site: Indaba Music
Real curious if any of my fellow Sonar users have used this site.

Here's another one - fairly well established: htt://www.musicianscollaboration.com

They have made some recent updates to the forum that allow you to search for collaborations that are looking for a particular insturment, like drums, vocals, or whatever. It's a good place to get some ideas fleshed out on instruments you don't play and also a nice way to expand your own playing pallette by playing to someone else's stuff.

    Yeah, I'd heard that.

That must be really cool to run Reason as a sorta uber cool VSTi in Sonar via the magic of Rewire. I guess I'll have to check it out one of these days...

I used indaba for a couple of months and worked on some sessions there and then the traffic just dropped off and people were just posting songs like a MySpace and there were no cool collabs. It died quickly as far as I'm concerned. It was the best web-collab site I had seen so far versus just an artist profile site, but it wasn't complete yet.

sessionpros looks like it may be useful if you are looking for a paid-for service.

To the OP: I am on the musicianscollaboration board, though I don't participate a whole lot, like anything, there are varying levels of talent on there, but there are a number of good songs that I've heard come off of there and it's definitely a good place to toss around ideas with other musicians who may really open up new avenues in songs you've wanted to move past a stuck level for a long time.
