Nope. Drumtracker is the only thing about to be released. I don't have inside information about marketing but it sounds like all the R&D has been paid for so it's time to wring out as much market share as possible. The EZdrummer is still a great platform and EZXs are still in the pipeline as reported by TT staff in their forum.

They've ran that promotion in the UK for quite a while.
It was because Superior Drummer 2.0 coming out.
I think they hope people will either buy the packs or make an upgrade to SD 2.0
I personally think the upgrade price to SD 2.0 is too high.
I'm sure they are not going to get the take up they hoped.

I did the SD2.0 upgrade for $229 with 15% off (net $195). Too bad that doesn't get a free EZX (only New SD2.0's according to the rebate form).

I have no idea why they are having these great discounts ... focusing on pushing superior 2.0 ?? as someone mentioned -- I dunno

I know this... I have Battery 3... I have the old BDF ..... and I have to say I LOVE EZDRUMMER better than both -- I am so happy with that I dont even care too look at superior 2 ... not even interested in shopping for other drum software ....

EZ puts me right where i want ... the loops are handy at times -- and I can trigger my own drums parts using my elesis performace pad .. you have out puts on every channel -- room controll, and you can manupulate those out puts with whatever plug ins you want from sonar -- bounce them to seperate audio.. I know you can do that with BDF and battery 3 as well.... but it just seeems so much easier in EZdrummer.. .I can work faster and I dont need a bagillion drum sounds I'll never use

so.... WHAT more do I need???? NOT A THING -- its perfect for me.... SOUNDS GREAT - EXPANSION PACKS ARE AWSOME

I know some others may want more and thats cool ... for them if there happy .....

for me finding ezdrummer is kinda like finding your wife ... you date and search and search date and search and search and then BINGo -- one day you just know you found the right one you can spend the rest of your life with ....
THATS HOW MUCH I LOVE EZDRUMMER

of course I am 38 years old and still single ... so then again some may say I dunno what the hell I am talking about

    haha

So then for you, finding a wife will be like finding a drum module/player/creator?

I hope each of your searches does not cost between $99 - $349. Try coffee dates until you find the ONE!

I picked up EZD at GC about a year ago for $99 (call before you go to make sure they have it). It works great with audio snap. I play the guitar part first - then fix the time line with audio snap and then use EZD to audition beats till I find one I like. I have all the session drummer loops and pattern brush midis loaded into EZD too under My MIDI.

I'm kind of curious why you need EZX's with Superior - doesn't the thing have like 20 gigs of files (compared to EZD's 1 gig)? Or is all of that just going to audio drum samples? I'm very satisfied with the sound of EZD - but there's always more.

I could say you've answered your own question.

AFAIK, Superior Drummer 2.0 is a new tool with new samples. It can operate withouot ever using the EZXs o EZDrummer. However, they made it so that you can load the eZXs into it so that you can use the interface with known samples/kits. But, there are some features of the new samples that don't apply to the old EZXs (IIR it has to do with nature of the room/overhead miking on the new samples).

Yeah but at least the expansion is optional on ezdrummer. Seems to be compulsory with a wife.

I think Superior is great, but the Nashville and Vintage Rock kits are very cool, too. I use all three of them in rotation, depending on the project.

Hint: Get it through MF rather than GC and you don't have to pay sales taxes. They're owned by the same company and pick their inventory from the same warehouses. But unless you live in Missouri or another state where MF has a physical location, there's no state sales tax because it's an interstate transaction.

GC, by contrast, has brick-and-mortar stores in pretty much every state, so it's usually not a true interstate transaction. Hence the state sales tax.

    Just a little tip!

Believe or not, I was in a Banjo Mart the other day and they had a boxed version of Toontrack's Drum Kit from Hell 2 on the shelf, for sale. $99.00. How wank is that?

Each EZX comes with it's own midi grooves. The latest release features two old school funk drummers with their respective kits. Great sounding drums and great old school grooves. Another EZX kit is right behind it and it could very well be the biggest release as far as EZXs that TT has had. It's all good and it's all fun.

I have Battery 3, that uses 24-bit samples. I read that EZ uses 16-bit. Does anyone notice the difference who have used both of these drum plugins?

I am interested in the DFH expansion for it , if I did get it that is... $99 is how much I got Battery 3 for. But with the choice of one expansion pack along with it (such as DFH), that sounds like a great deal

I have EZdrummer and Superior 2. If you take away the extra ambience channels, I can't tell the difference.

Interesting. I've had Superior installed for 2 days, and I can tell you one difference: EZD is a lot easier to use out of the box. Less control over the details, of course, and the effects in Superior are truly superior. But the learning curve on Superior is a lot steeper than EZD's.

So, turning on this post, which of the 2 expansion kits should I pick up? I have the basic install but would be nice to have additional kits.

I have heard so much about Nashville so that will probably be one. Stylistically I do classic rock, blues, blues-rock, acoustic rock and so on.

    Thanks.

    Nashville is straight up cool.

Actually they are all cool. But of course they each have their purpose. Given your style, I say Nashville & DFH or Vintage Rock.
