OT: Best Video Card for Vista Sonar 7 DAW?

I'm running an Nvidia GeForce with 1gb of RAM with my DAW. Is this taxing my CPU memory (should I get a card with 512mb RAM) or is it a plus in the DAW world to have a video card with 1gb on-board memory?

Thanks,
Randy

Generally speaking the more video ram on your video card the less demand on your system resources. That said, if all you are using your video for is to see your DAW application, you do not need much video capability at all. The high end multimeg cards are designed to give gamers full action motion pictures of their killing sprees. Watching a meter dance a little does not take much of a card. Better to put your money somewhere else.

completely depends on what monitor you have and what resolution you want to run. I'd highly recommend one that doesn't have a fan though - just a heatsink - if you are using the DAW anywhere close to where you are tracking.
