Poly Evolver Keyboard: Help!

Hi all,

I'm still wrestling with my band's live setup; trying to move to hardware synths... I posted this in more specialised forums but this place is always really helpful so I thought I'd paste it here too. Any Poly Evolver owners your help is MUCH needed!

I am trying to use my Poly Evolver Keyboard in 'Combo' mode to play back four different mono synth parts sequenced on an MPC. Each part has a different evolver program and a separate MIDI channel. I can get combo parts 2, 3 and 4 to work perfectly all playing together correctly.

I can't get anything out of part 1. I am using the same settings as for the other parts. I have a feeling it is something to do with the sequencer using this voice but I have it completely disabled. I have read the manual and I have tried all the settings I can think of that make sense but I would like to hear how you would troubleshoot this issue.

AND... how do you carry out 'combo' changes over MIDI?! Is this even possible? There is an extensive list of MIDI 'Combo Parameters' in the manual but it is absolutely unclear how you are supposed to make use of this information! I think Dave Smith is a bit too clever to be writing the synth manuals himself.

Thanks for reading,

Albert

Hi Albert - Sorry this reply is a few years late.... figured a reply can still help others though... I recently ran into the same issue you were having and have solved this problem.
Double check the "High Key" and "Low Key" settings on part 1
    - Set the "low key" to C -2
    - Set the "high key" to G 8

This enabled the part to work properly for me. Good luck!
