Brookie is just down the road so to speak. I have been there.

I hear it's up for sale-the whole Close. Natch, it's a bit like a film set-missing walls, a few camera track marks around etc, but I hear it's a real bargain for a developer. Imagine being the landlord of Brookside?

billkath , yep 700k.. but it could go for more.

some of the houses are perfectly fine though, as a few were used for offices... much like the east enders set.

700K? In Stirling? That's a massive bargain. With the Euro at near parity it'll get much more than that from us "real" Europeans. €700,000 would only buy you 3 packets of Pringles and a few litres of petrol in Ireland.

People won't be paying a premium to live there so as an investment it ain't looking to hot....

Trouble is the death rate along with the divorce rate is sky high, the neighbours behave like animals and you'd have to be really careful about digging too deep in the garden...

Trust me I bought the Crossroads Motel and the Ship from Triangle (remember that ol' tosh...) and I'm an executive on the Board at Holby General...

My car...

I find the older I get, the easier it is to multitask.

I can sneeze, cough, wee & fart all at the same time with absolutely no problems.

Move to France. You can buy a CASE of proper wine for £13.

well it's Spanish, so they keep all the good stuff for themselves .. I used to know an Aussie woman, she said the same about the wine in the UK, the so called aussie stuff wasn't a patch on the stuff from back home.. we get the not so good ones here.hehe

haven't been to France on a booze run for a good few years, guess it's long over due... I do remember last time wondering if my friends back axle on his car would hold out..hehe

Billy, I go every few years to Galway / Clare.. and well it's changed so much.. I get tiffen brought back as you can't buy it in the UK... in some aspects you.. in others you get done over like a kipper.. since the pound isn't so great at the moment.. well the currency conversion isn't so hot.

The good news with the weak pound is your exports will go up, and that'll create jobs, and you'll be first out of the recession. For instance- A Fender Custom Shop Strat Pro Anywhere in the rest of Europe is minimum €2300. Now, with the exchange rate, I can get it in Guilford for a little over €1700- the price of a Strat Deluxe. Magic! Please, Santa-Please!!!! I've been a good boy at gigs this Christmas party season and haven't as much looked at the Christmas Crackers, let alone the ordinary slappers!! Mind you-there's still tonight, tomorrow and an Early Christmas eve gig to go...........

Billy, what exports? most of the country is service industry or call centres.hehe

guilford? interesting.. have you tried dv247.com also? if you near shannon and in a hurry.. order it.. arrange pick up.. fly to heathrow..and the DV shop is on the same train line. I often pop in when I'm going to the airport, as unless I have to airport parking charges are a bit steep. (£4 earlier for hhmm 20-40 minutes)

Yeah-Andertons. They've been great to me over the years-shipped a load of studio gear very quickly to me very cheaply.
I had a look at the DV shop some time back, but couldn't find the Strat Pro. I want one with a maple fretboard as well, so I guess it would be special order. They are cheap though, and I bet it could start a bidding war with the two shops-thanks for the tip. They have one in Clapham? I know that area-I lived in Croydon for a few years.
Shannon is a good bit further than Dublin for me , though. Still-Gatwick is only a short trainride in.
