[Answered] PROBLEM WITH MIDI LATENCY

Tonight I started working with my new SONAR HOME STUDIO 7 XL and with RAPTURE 1.1.
Using ADDICTIVE DRUMS I laid down a 50 measure drum track to start out with .

This project was a test more then anything to make sure my keyboard was working correctly using MIDI , I really wasn't trying to create a song.
Anyway I started with RAPTURE 1.1 and that seem to work fine except one thing I'm dealing with some LATENCY .
Is there any way I can correct this issue in SONAR HOME STUDIO 7 XL and if so how can I make some improvements?

Check back later on tonight,thanks

your problem isn't midi latency but audio latency, what's your soundcard?

Thanks for the help , my soundcard is a CREATIVE SOUNDBLASTER LIVE ! 24-bit 7.1 SOUNDCARD .

Not sure I understand when I hook my KEYBOARD UP it records off of my KEYBOARD board jack it plays and sounds normal , that to me sounds like a AUDIO TYPE RECORDING .
But this time my KEYBOARD was hooked up and set to play in the MIDI MODE , wouldn't that be MIDI instead of AUDIO ?

No, because your soundcard has to take those MIDI controls and convert them to audio playback, if you are using a softsynth. If you are using the Soundblaster built-in synth you may not have much or any latency because that is a hardware synth.

Go to Options-Audio-Advanced and select either ASIO or WDM driver mode... whichever one will give you less latency. When you select WDM mode, you have to go to Options-Audio-General and press the Wave Profiler button.

Thanks daveny5 , someone else suggested the same thing and I ran the WAVE PROFILIER and move my LATENCY SLIDER TO FAST
and now its working fine so far.
I was playing my keyboard and running RAPTURE 1.1 and everything now sounds normal like it is suppose to sound , boy that just saved me $200.00 for next month and a big thanks for your support .

    daveny5....
Solved the prob with SB Audigy Plat. Ex and Windows 7 using Sonar Home Studio 7....could not use asio because of incompatibility with sound card but WDM seems to be just fine.
    THANK YOU.....
