Check out this free new reverb plugin (epicVerb) from bootsie over at the KVR forum:

Bootsie's stuff is always worth a look. Better than average quality for freebies. While you're there check out the Nasty filters.

Stimpy, let us know how the CPU load compares to the Sonitus.

    EDIT:
Just heard the demo mp3s. Sounds quite good, especially for long, dramatic tails.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I went and took a look, but I'm real reluctant to run stuff on my new rig. I might try it on my backup... but only if I learned some reason why it might be different from the 101 other reverb DSPs that are available.

How does Bootsie code? Is he doing (for lack of my ability to use a proper description) *code* level work or using one of the object oriented VST builders?
Does he have any specific thoughts about reverb that might make this unique? Or is it straight out of some DSP textbook where any special character that might make it sound unique is just happenstance?

    best regards,
    mike

Bootsy almost always have lots of though behind his plugins so if he decided to make a reverb it's probably because he really wanted something special from it. If I don't remember wrong he uses some synth building application as a foundation and then optimizes and tweak everything with *code*

His other plugs sound amazing (but I don't claim to have golden ears) like Tessla, Rescue, Nasty-series (eq and "analogue" summing) and Density. Only plug I don't like is BootEQ and only because it's only 44.1khz...

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.
