I went off the air in 2005 or so, so I must have missed the old CH somehow... Feel right at home here, except I can't think fast enough to keep up anymore.

Wow, good to see the Coffeehouse back. I took a long hiatus from recording to work on my musicianship and haven't really visited let alone post. Good to see some of the users from years past especially Joel (inside joke from years past). BTW I was going thru my CD collection the other day and found the CD Jeff sent me a few years back.
I'm still using Sonar 3 Pro and I don't really see a need to upgrade yet, but we'll see how that goes. Anyways hope to be here a little more now. Later

Somewhere between realistic and idealistic is the real deal.

Nice Jamaican accent Shad!

It's 'sumfink' for Essex/London, or 'summat' for West Country me ol' ducker.

Good point James.

Actually this phrase: What is youz t'ick or sompin?. Would have most likely have been articulated as the far more succinct 'You nonce!' or indeed 'You numpty'.

LOL

I must admit, my accent is about as bad as Keanau Reeves, LMAO! I think it was probably more akin to a Newfie accent... a blend of Irish and Scotish accents something like: "Lard tunderin Jesus, its good t'see ya by (boy), how she goin?" Its been too long since I watched an episode of the Cornation Street

I'll get me coat

English accent benchmarks.

Worst non-native in a British role award goes to.....

Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=B_rVzBt20N0

Best non-native in a British role award goes to.....

Rene Zellweger in Bridget Jones Diaries

It took me quite a few years to realise that Rene wasn't a British actress

Special mention to all the guys in Spinal Tap, although they did stray a little into Aussie at times.

Award for Worst British Accent by a British Actor has to go to Sean Connery, playing an Irish cop in The Untouchables..just appalling!
