Today I go with the flow and really don't EXPECT much but anticipate what life brings with joy and wonder.

Wow--I don't consider that a downer. Way to go, and congrats!

35 years ago--definitely practice more and learn more instruments and chill out and enjoy life more. Didn't learn that one till a long time later!

What a difficult yet excellent question to ask, for me any way. Since I often speculate-wonder-theorize on where things are going based on where they've been, or where I've been with them. Sometimes I think I'd have told myself, move away from here, you can fight the good fight anywhere. With the state of the world 20 or 30 years ago it would have been much the same anywhere I think. Trouble is timeless, it jumps the gap of death. Being what I am today, good and bad, complete and incomplete is certainly part of my years of experience and interaction with my environment. Being a lost soul to the rest of the world does not neccesarily mean you are lost. As strange as it may sound, you can pray into the past and that may be why you are here today.

If you could go back 20 or 30 years or whatever to tell your younger self ONE thing, to what age 'you' would you talk and what would you say to yourself?

Don't bother with the Tascam Eight Track .... You won't be able to afford the Tape, and you'll never get your money back on it.

I wouldn't have listened to me anyway.

My thoughts exactly.

But it wouldn't stop me from slapping Younger Self up the side of the head and screaming "get yer f*in' sh*t together, you self-absorbed moron!"

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

NO...you don't have time, you'll have to decide/start/try now. Every year from your 20th on is about one week shorter than the previous year.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
