I would like to thank all the "Pro" Tools, including myself, that have participated in this thread!

I can't believe you guys have the "Audacity" to talk like this while the "Reapers" and "Wavasaurs" wait to pounce on you for such analogies! You know it will trip their "Sonar" to which we'll have to run for cover in our "WaveLab" to further come up with some "Cool Edits" to keep afloat! Then again, the end result could be we are swarmed by a few hot "Adobe's" that may want to take a closer look at our "Pro Tools", so not all is lost...unless you're me of course and can't make it past the "Audition" stages....hmmm. :-Þ

well this thread took the bullet train to corny-town... drivel people. not corn. that's tomorrow's thread, "why do people insist on continually making corny jokes in threads about drivel" and an estimated 99.237 percent of people do this...

I've always wanted to know why people sign their names at the end of every post. I'm not having a go...just genuinely interested to know why it's done...things like:

All the best
Larry

or

Best Wishes and regards to you and your family
Jeremy

Some people have it in their signatures, which saves time I suppose. Some people seem to type it every single time. I just wanna know the mindset of that. All the rest is just great. Get Sonar up here I wanna boof it...etc.

All the very best of luck and give my best to your family too

some people's names are different from their handle and they want people to know. some people saw the signature thing and thought "hey, a signature..."

some people i suppose do not want the line between their post and their signature, so they type it. or maybe they don't know about the signature stuff...

some people write intelligent responses. me, i'm like "hey, free post..."

My theory is that the people who do that are from the write a letter by hand, put it in an envelope and put it in the mailbox and send it way of thinking. What's funny is when someone writes some snarky post and still signs it All the very best, Brad. Or something like that. So, jack the ex-cynic, why do you have a repeat of what everyone can already read in your signature area? I'm giving you another chance to add to your already very 1337 post count.

I know the answer to this one (I think) - or at least why I do it.

It's helpful to let other folk know how they might like to addressed.

Some posters use pseudonyms and don't even put their real name on their profile - surely you'd rather be called Matt than Montezuma?

Having said that, I'm quite fond of getting called Strummy you know

Only two people here call me Greg. Susan and GeoKauf. I like jinga or jinga8 just fine. I've had nicknames all through my life, from the time I was 5 or so until high school graduation (Eggy - I cracked my head open on a brick wall playing dodgeball at recess), then another one (Alfie - my last name is Amato, and there was a senator from New Yok named Alfonse D'Amato) in college. Now jinga here. I'm used to it. Only people at work and my family call me Greg (well, I guess that's the majority of people in my life now, but still...)

i think it's like signing a note, or an email (i'm old-school like that). but i do think it's funny when sigs don't match the post... which is why i can amuse myself by being cynical...
