Hi David, I see you've met Daveny5 then.

The block button can be found on everyone's posts - if you click on it, every post the person makes is hidden from the thread. The posts aren't hidden for everyone else, just the person who does the blocking.

You are exactly right, and after he "blocked" me he still kept answering my post.
thanks alot i thoght the name was funny when I was called whitefolks, white boy dave. I personally wouldnt call a black or brown or whatever person black boy fred or brownfolks. I think there is a big difference. I explained to them that I went to Norfolk State University wich is a black university me being one of the very few whitefolks in the school people referred to me as that white guy, or whiteboy dave, or my wife and i as white folks. I really hope I dont offend anyone. it never has before and I play with black musicians, and I used to only play with black musicians at school since i played rap, r&b, funk, reggae

If black people call you 'white folks' its ok - no-one is offended, not even you. But call yourself 'white folks' and you get all sorts of white people getting offended on behalf of the black comunity that arn't offended in the first place. Odd world we live in.

I think Dave's probably blocked about 75% of the forum members by now actually. Must make for rather disjointed thread-reading...

    Great avatar, Mr. Strummer!

(But then, the next time you change it, this linked image might change. So for posterity I should probly describe it. But, how to do it justice, since it describes itself.)

Just describe it as the 'London Calling' sleeve art in Steve's favourite Cerise colour.

I have Mr Simonon in the original Black & White, blue, green and a nauseous yellow, which I've since deleted.

I'm trying the green one to see if your link changes Marah.

I may post all my avatars in this thread - we could have a poll to see which one I should use each week - and you thought I was sad

Slug, I think you may have read that the wrong way - I think he meant to say he prefers the name 'White Folks' to other names he's been called, not that he 'prefers white folks'.

I was referred to as white boy dave also i prefer WHite Folks

Unfortunately I think he missed out a comma -

I was referred to as white boy dave also, i prefer WHite Folks

If it was me I'd just sign back in with a less controversial name and save all the hassle.

The block feature is great, IMHO.
However, some people like to use it as a forum weapon, like when someone actually bothers to tell you they're blocking you.
When the feature was first added, there were gobs of "I'm blocking you" posts in emotional threads.

    That's funny.

Just block the noise and be done with it (and there's never a shortage of noise on internet forums, is there?).

I bet the block feature has never actually been used. It's just a bunch of people saying "I'm blocking you"
Well I've got you all beat. As of this moment, I'm blocking myself. Nyah.

*edit* Damn, it won't let me do that. Oh well, don't tell Spaceduck. He thinks he's blocked.
