Thanks for your kind words Shawn, and I will never give up on myself or my music. My music is good; it's just not where I'd like it to be. To me there is no point in settling for anything less than top quality work. After spending so much time pointing out the hack factor in other people's work, I have become my own best editor, and recognize the opportunities for improvement. I just spent the last week learning the ropes on MIDI guitar (I got a beautiful new instrument for Christmas), and have lots of ideas running through my head. Some of them are actually pretty decent, and I have my fingers crossed that I can get them out of my head and into the DAW with a minimum of time lost negotiating with the technology. Up with the good, down with the culture destroyers, Paul

You know... basically, pretending to be ( or even actually thinking you are) a badass.. has always been extremely marketable..if it's convincing.

somehow this thread has survived 38 posts... ah, music and santa... if i were satan, i'd get religious people all worked up about stuff they hate so i could distract them from things they are supposed to love.

Bush caused Brittany? Pretty funny stuff, except I expect some people take it serious. But any day you don't have to decide between dying in the flames or a 108-story fall is pretty good, considering. Brittany and Metallica? Pretty funny two some there. I've always been an unpopulous and have never listened to either one of those two by choice. I did listen to Black Sabbath in my youth, but as said above taking pop music seriously is, well, silly. It is a product, and we've been producing bad product for as long as there are people. "What a gypsie man needs is a gypsie woman" is as asinine as anything those two produced. Of course, what do I know? One of my now wife's roommate when she moved to NYC back in the 80's was Madonna. Madonna moved out quickly - taking something from all the other girls in the apt and when she started doing local videos I laughed and said she was a flash in the dance pan. Now, I even like a few of her old songs but for the most part I see her stuff as an indictment of popular culture. As BDMaustin so succiently put it, mass marketing to teenagers is all about getting a whole lot 'em to believe they are individually doing something unique. If Satan has to depend upon bad records to make his point, he is doing pretty piss poor job of ruining the world. But he is frying bigger fish out there.
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Hey Greg. Don't worry about it. I know that I'm kind of obnoxious. Actually, it's one of my most endearing qualities.
