Adjusting multiple faders

Hey guys,

I need to lower about 10 faders all at the same time. I know I can add each fader to a group and do it that way but I was wondering if there would be a faster way to do this? Thanks

Windows 7 64-bit, i7 2.93 GHz, EP45-DS3R Mother Board 2GB ram, 2 sata 500GB drives, M-Audio ProFire 610, Sonar 8PE, Alpha Track, Mpc 2500

There's quick groups which is slightly quicker than assigning faders to groups.

Quick Groups is a pretty fast way of doing this. Creating these is a bit different depending on whether you're in Track View or Console View, but they can be made quickly. Especially if the channels are all adjacent to eachother, you can just click on one of their quick group toggles and then, without releasing the mouse, drag through the rest of them.

Or if it's a move that want to repeat, and not just a one time adjustment, you could send the tracks (or buses) to a bus, and automate the move.

Hmmm, ok. I tried the quick group but for some reason when I move a fader the other faders don't respond.

Odd - they should all respond together.

Do you have any envelopes on ANY of the tracks?

You created the quick group in the console view yes? By control + clicking the little squares at the bottom of each track?

I have a feeling you didnt do it right.
What view did you group in. If you did it in the track view, i think you just selected the tracks and not grouped them. If the corner is yellow, then its wrong. The corner in the track view should be blue and if your doing it in the console viewm then there are buttons on the bottom of the track that you select. Its all in the manual and help file on how to quick group.

I am in fact in console view....there are little icons at the bottom of each track that look like little chain links, I'm holding Ctrl and clicking each of these for each track. I'm obviously doing something wrong,....I'll have to hit the manual to get to the bottom of this. Thanks guys.

but what you are describing is actually the right procedure ...if the little chain icons are all lit (those you want) then they are grouped and should all move....
btw.. i wouldnt do it that way anyway because in case of any fade automations (i guess you loose the right relation of volumes since its not linear ... i always group the tracks i want to change by grouping the trim ... so all my automated fades remain unaltered...

    cheers

I'm trying to lower all of my faders a little bit in Sonar X1 and I do not want to do this with the master fader.

I have selected all the tracks and when I right click over a fader I am able to assign all of the faders to the same group. When I move a fader to a louder volume all of the faders go up to a louder volume. However, when I move that same fader to a lower volume the other faders do not move down past their original positions.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks.
