C'mon guys - this "moved" thing REALLY is a pain

Trying to get info about getting a UAD-1 Flexi and my thread was banished to "Hardware" - where nobody will see/read it.

is it REALLY too much of a pain in the a** to leave the threads here in the forum that people actually read ??

If it's not a Sonar question it doesn't belong in the Sonar forum.

    Seems pretty obvious to me.

I think that much of the value I've received here has been from "off-topic" threads.

did you actually try posting it in the hardware forum? I dont mind people re-posting in a different forum if they dont get the solution they are after but wh not try in the right place first?

you say nobody reads the hardware forum, but how many time do you read it? If you do read it, fair enough and i appologise. Im just trying to say that the reason why cake keep moving things is to encourage people to post in the correct place and for everyone to look in all of the forums.

i am starting to really like having stuff in different forums.

My experience over the years has been quite the opposite. Asking for gear recommendations on the Sonar forum usually results in one of two scenarios: (1) I get a bunch of not-quite-relevant or useless/smartass responses, or (2) the thread slides onto page 2 with few/no responses. While you may not get as many responses on the Hardware forum, some of the most educated and experienced guys/gals around here, such as Yep, Frank (ohhey), Larry (krizrox), Dave (bitflipper), the other Dave (Mod Bod), etc. will chime in and give you some solid advice before your thread gets diluted by a million other threads.

I am hoping that if Cake enforces the categories consistently for a long period of time then maybe people from the big forum will start making regular visits to the gear forums.

No more of a pain than having to wade through a ton of irrelevant threads because some people can't / won't / are too lazy to post in the proper forum....

Gregmang, just to make you feel at home, how's this...

Teh UAD-1 Flexi? Pfffft. If my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon.

+1. Give it a day or 2 & you'll be surprised at the helpful & informative replies.

I rather like the Gear and Techniques forums.
Maybe not high traffic, but certainly quality traffic, and the threads stay remarkably On Topic.

For a while there, I was more inclined to look at the Gear threads than the SONAR forum.

Dave Modisette ... rocks a Purrrfect Audio Studio Pro rig.

come on, that's a funny thing to find and the irony factor is excellent! HAhhahahaahahahh! Let's see where this new approach leads. It's certainly humorous to watch

I still am. I'm not that fond of the sonar forum myself - most of my posting goes on in all of the other ones.

Well, Greg, at least your post didn't get banished to the Coffee House. NOBODY ever goes there...wait, where am I? Yikes, it's like the time I decided to take a shortcut through Detroit and found myself very far from Kansas in a rental car with a quarter tank of gas and no clue which way was out.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
