The I/O control panel let's you do many things.

You can set the compressor settings and also link them to a stereo pair.

Turn phantom power on and off

Phase control

-20 dB pad

Low end roll off

Control the volume level.

Additionally, you can control the clock sync settings and the Digital I/O settings.

The best part is that all of these settings can be saved as a preset and recalled at anytime. this means if you have a singer who uses a high quality condenser mic saved as one preset and instantly jump to an 8 dynamic mic setup for instrument recording.
