Simple stupid good move for EZdrummer tracks

I was playing around with EZDrummer last night, and I spent a little time moving the velocity knob around while the groove played back. Wow, did that change the sound of the drums (the Vintage Kit in this case).

I always adjust the velocity on individual drum hits on my tracks, but I've never adjusted overall velocity up or down section-by-section. And it's so easy--what was I thinking? From now on, that's the second thing I'll do after setting up the basic groove.

Regards, lightninrick

That's a good way to vary a groove in a Verse 1/ Verse 2 situation. Or put a velocity envelope in the track and increase the velocity in the last bar before a chorus. Any ghosts strokes in the groove become more like subtle fills. Check out a few other tips in my forum.
