Virtual Instruments - bargains ?
I am wondering if there is a place where people offer the Virtual Instruments they no longer want for sale? I looked at Ebay and KVR forum. Anywhere else? I am looking at EastWest symphonic instrument for example. Or would people *swap* instruments? If someone had, for example, MOTU Ethno, would it be possible to swap that for something EastWest? I wonder if the manufacturer would object to this? Any comments?

Only a handful of developers allow license transfers--I'd check with each developer before buying or selling a soft synth. As far as reselling places, yeah, KVR is a good place.

I do know it is illegal to resell Eastwest libraries. And to make it more difficult, their libraries use the iLok USB key for licenses.

Thanks. I suppose to "swap" would be interpreted as "reselling" by Eastwest ?

ORIGINAL: jasonDrummer I do know it is illegal to resell Eastwest libraries. And to make it more difficult, their libraries use the iLok USB key for licenses. Is it? It didn't used to be. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I sold an Eastwest product (Hardcore bass maybe) and Eastwest did the authorization switch. I know it was done on the up and up.

Here's what MOTU said: You may sell or trade your copy of Ethno at your discretion. However, if you wish to transfer your registration to a new owner you will need to contact Customer Service. So, looks like I can. Now I've got to find someone who has EastWest they want to trade. Thats *if* EastWest allow the same thing.

I ran across this site today. Good sounding stuff and dirt cheap for that amount of quality.
