artist credits of cakewalk
Hello, Is there a list of ackowledged artists/producers that are Cakewalk/Sonar users? I did some digging and found Cakewalk's accomplishments but was wondering how do I find all those Emmy & Grammy award winners and their albums? The only reason I ask is my lead singer keeps saying "Maybe Sonar isn't as capable as advertised.", and mentions Pro Tools. I for one, am tired of hearing it, but I'd love to shove a list of accomplishments in his face to make him stop. Thanks

The "Pros" don't always sign on with product endorsements. Cakewalk is great and there are a great many professional people using it from film to orchestra to home users like me. In my opinion the only thing Pro Tools has over Cakewalk Sonar is snobery, but I'm no professional.

Beagle , you sent away for Jon's autograph also and got no reply? jeez. terrible PR montage, regardless of what you use... it's the 2 channels at the end ... not how you got there thats all the listener cares about 90% of the time.. I found it REALLY amusing when some acts over here have used very low end things and got higher in the charts than some pro's. some people I know are VERY vague about what they use on purpose.. people try to emulate what a friend does with sound, BUT his studio gear list is a well kept secret. I know what they use, but if they want to tell people, then fair enough but it's their business. it kinda reminds me of being back at school.. a bit like that top trumps card games or any number of things you can compare.. for a while I thought Steve Austin's middle initial was "v"

Reece, what you said... there are some SERIOUSLY odd people around... there was a woman, a fan of George Michael... living under his house.... an Actor Martin Shaw here, was stalked for years and blamed HIM for all the misfortunes in her life. the one that makes me laugh is celebs try to disguise themselves, but in doing so actually draw more attention to themselves.. Jon's "Hi I'm Jonbouy" t-shirt is a bit of a giveaway though , shame the printer of it wasn't so hot on the spelling.. the back of the thing says "I'm a Leg end"

Hey, how about that my very first stalker!... Yeah, Fog a leg end which makes me one of 2 things either a foot or an.......... Actually the leg is an incredible piece of bio-genetic engineering in that it is the only thing known to man to have a Bottom at it's top.

Jon, Congrats on your first stalker, now you know you have arrived !! Having said that, be careful what you wish for Jon !!! Actually back in the day, I once did have my very own stalker, whom my band and friends kindly named Mad Ann, at first it was flattering and mildly amusing, but rapidly developed into an annoying and then slightly disturbing scenario. I would go on random nights out, only organised between say, myself and 3 or 4 friends, and she would turn up, often many miles away from home base. I was always polite and respectful but I got seriously spooked when someone handed me a copy of a crudely printed "fanzine" of my "power pop electro duo" in which I "wrote" an article which discussed all "my" supposed innermost personal thoughts on a variety of subjects ranging from dreams to the then recent killing of John Lennon. Now I was just a smalltown boy so I can imagine how scary this is for famous artists. For my own protection, twenty years on I have now adopted the disguise of a slightly balding middle aged man.............. Kiosk out

Kiosk out get ya own disguise . whats classed as middle aged.. 35+ ? well I just qualified. a friend keeps changing his mobile every say 6 months. .BUT is still getting text messages from a withheld number. if it's someone who you know is a bit.. hhhmm unbalanced, then it's not so bad as NOT knowing who it is. an ex girlfriend was troublesome on that front for a while, thankfully she didn't have a car to sit outside my house in.

ORIGINAL: artsoul not to start a war here, but why would an artist thank cakewalk? depends, I ,mean I'd put a section of hello's to a few peoples whose products I use.. I get on fine with a few of the sample library makers I whose products I use. I'd greet a few people.. I did in a few drum maps "readme" files I did..hehe sometimes the people who make such products go out of their way to be helpful, so why not. I'd have even greeted the person in the cooker shop who fixed the dials on the cooker hee, but heck they aren't 100% right..haha

Meh. One of the reasons I got into Cakewalk stuff is because one of my heroes uses Cakewalk SONAR. Mike Cadoo of Bitcrush, formerly of Gridlock (i.e. greatest project ever), and owner of the electronic music label n5MD. Gridlock is one of the reasons I do the kind of music I do and they used Cakewalk for sequencing all throughout their career, I think their last album before they broke up was done with SONAR finally though. The other person who was in Gridlock, Mike Wells, now runs a mastering studio, in San Francisco. I don't know if he still uses SONAR, but I know that Mike Cadoo still uses SONAR to this day.

Wow, it's been a week and am thankful for all the responses. I did indeed find the same page as the link that a few of you have posted; which was exactly what he was looking for. I know that Sonar has enabled others (and hopefully soon myself+band) to do great stuff, and I just wanted some evidence to convince the lead singer it was possible.
