Tons of z3ta+ patches not working

I have a fresh installation of z3ta+ with Sonar 7 PE 32-bit on Vista64 and I have tons of patches that make no sound whatsoever. Most of the arps are broken. It's strange that probably 4/5ths of the arp patches don't make any sound at all, but they're not the only ones. Is this a common problem with this synth? Any idea what could be wrong?

z3ta+ is old...very pre-Vista. Have you tried tricks like running as administrator in z3ta+ standalone mode or running your host as administrator?

I run it as administrator already. *sigh* That makes two things I have from Cakewalk that appear to have been end-of-life at the time I bought them. *grumble*

Sorry man....I think you should try contacting Cakewalk support on this one and see if they can help get it going.

Half the time I email them about something I don't even get a response. It's frustrating.

They've always responded to me but it usually on the order of two days to a week before I hear back via email. It is a drag doing support via email.

Spam is such a problem nowadays and the "anti-spam" trapping systems are as much of a problem as well. My first guess would be that they are replying but the messages are not getting to you (I know this happens to them a lot). Can you call them on the tele?

Late on the scene, but this sounds to me like you are missing some arp files(.cmp) in your z3ta setup.

Take note of the arp numbers for presets that don't work and then see if those arps are in your "arpeggios" folder.  Probably not.  Turning off the arp will get your sound back.
