Two New Covers...

The first one, sticking with my chosen genre, is a cover of Jamey Johnson's In Color -

The next one is a rock tune - Fuel's "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" -

both of these are just my vocals, music is from backing tracks...

Mitch, I must say you nailed the Fuel.....I never heard the country song (witch sounded good also) Your mix is very good. Your vocals have great levels as well. Nice and crisp. A couple questions for ya. I'm assuming you recorded this with MC4. What did you use for drums? and how do you get such good vocal levels. I need answers and I want them now mister....... Keep up the good work. Ken

Mitch - really good sound on the guitar. vocals are good, but they've got more reverb than the other instruments so they sound like they're not in the same space.

really good mix, tho. excellent job!

Hey Beagle - I was on the edge with the reverb on the vocals - bordering on not enough and too much - it always sounds so different when I'm mixing in the headphones and then export it out - so I'll need to practice some more...

Ken - I use a combination of 3 effects on the vocal tracks - Studioverb for the reverb, then Classic Compressor and Classic EQ, both free plug-ins. I jsut keep playinbg with the reverb until it sounds right, and use a 2:1 ratio the compressor. EQ varies with what I'm trying to do with the song, then jsut balance the levels with the music...

    Thanks for listening!

First off, great job, that was a great cover on the first one, i agree on the reverb, with Beag. I tend to over reverb on most songs when i mix with headphones.

Where did you get the backing tracks, they are very good, the quality is first rate.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

I hear 'In Color' on the radio these days. You did a great job of it!

The second one is quite nice too. I would bring the vocals up a bit.

    Great job! I enjoyed these!
