Thoughts on this Potential System?

Hi,

I'm finally about ready to upgrade my system, and here's what I'm leaning towards, but I want some opinions...

i7 920
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 mobo
Antec take 4 + 650 case
Corsair XMS3 1600 6gb RAM
Separate SATA2 drives for system, data & samples
SATA DVD Burner

I already have
2 20" monitors
Echo Audiofire 8
Bunch of soft syths and soft samplers, Sonar Prod 7 (about to become 8)

Need advice on the above, plus a quiet video card with 2 DVI ports. I was hoping to make it dual-boot, so I can boot clean for DAW, but still use this beauty for Photoshop, Premiere, Office, etc... off of the other boot. Is Vista 64 viable for my DAW boot?

sounds like good specs to me! I 'am also looking for a new set up so I'am reading and learning everything I can before I make My own set up. I'am thinking XP pro still the way to go for now. let me know if and when you get it going feed back is always nice

Bump. I really would like to pull the trigger on this in the next day or so. I'd love any suggestions, warnings, or affirmations about where I'm headed.

    Thanks!

I have a similar system, this looks good. XP32 is fastest, most compatible and most stable. If you're not loading huge sample libs, you'll get much better low-latency performance without bit-bridge. Go with the 64bit at your own risk - its not as done as you think (close tho)
