Foggy, thats the one, I recorded some covers in there, notably Springsteen's "Born to Run" in there, also Olivia Newton-John's 'Physical' and of course The Lighthouse Family's 'Lifted'

I would have welcomed some snow here yesterday when the temperature hit 47C (117F). Fires everywhere at the moment.

Thanks, mate. I'm in the city so it's ok here but the death toll in the surrounding countryside continues to rise.

Peter (pjl) I hear all the time about water rationing in Oz from some aussies I know over there.. so on one hand great weather, but water issues..

although a while ago I saw Cyprus had the same issue... Greece sent over a load of tankers with drinking water.. BUT the problem was / is ... it went stale, water does, so was a bit of a waste.

I'd like to go to Oz one day, just well gotta give up the smokes first.hehe

Yeah I have never been to Oz yet, or NZ come to that matter, would love to go, I have an Uncle and 5 cousins down there that I have never met. In all honesty I'm a little bit apprehensive about going to Oz because I have got a feeling I would love it so much down there, I would come back disgruntled and want to emigrate. Can that be done at my age, 48? not sure but I think my chance might have gone

Garry, countries are funny. I mean yep they are getting strict with it. If I didn't live in the UK.. then I'd either go for the US / Canada / Oz. (in no order) if they'd have me..hehe

Europe, well is a none starter for me, Ireland has changed so much in more recent years. Spain. .well I'd rather they didn't turn around and say right .. we bulldozing ya house to build a motorway..etc.

then there is the whole countryside / town thing. This is gonna sound snobbish, but well going to other places in the UK.. all seem a lot smaller than London (or used to.. e.g. Manchester , Liverpool etc)

Marius,

Unfortunately, I've never been to Norway but, having lived in Switzerland and the UK, I understand what you mean. However, there are currently hundreds of families not 100 km from were I live who would gladly swap homes with you except that, since Saturday, they don't have homes anymore.

The latest figure is 131. Yes, they are saying that some of the fires were deliberately lit - which is not unsual. They are now talking about charging the culprits with murder but, to be honest, I think these are simple, disturbed individuals who really don't understand the consequences of their actions. Of course, if they had killed members of my family I might not be so forgiving.

Hey mate!

Yeah, that's a tragedy! I lived in Adelaide for a couple of years and I have friends Down Under who've lost their homes to the flames. I's sad stuff! If the fire is caused by a man I hope they find him and punush him severely! Australia is one of my favorite countries in the world. Such great people there and beautiful scenery. Not to mention the great choice in beers! I wouldn't mind moving back to Oz. I hope the families that's lost their homes will get their new homes up and running realy soon. My heart goes out to them.

Weather wise, Australia certainly is a dream country to live in. I don't mind the 40 degrees celsius or whatever. I love hot weather! Makes me happier, despite my Viking herritage!

It's quite pleasant down here in the S.E. if a bit on the cool side.

I hope it don't freeze or snow now as the daffs have started coming out and everything has started budding.

Nothing but blue skies forecast here for the next couple of days

Going to be a bit chilly though - the gritters were out about an hour ago.

I wonder if they're gritting the roads in Gaza as a show of camaraderie

Steve , to cheer you up regarding your towns twinning..

although I remember there was a character they brought in for an episode who listened to jungle.. BUT the selection , whoever picked the tunes KNEW their tunage.. and it wasn't incredible by m-beat YET again

classic tunes such as "Dj Taktix - The Way" alas I couldn't find a clip of it on youtube.

Hi everyone.

Well, if you don't like snow do not ever come over in Quebec. We've got snow from december to march (even april) and it's still freezing (-27C with the windshield last morning).

I used to like snow when I was younger, but I find it more annoying now.

You must mean Father Finton Stack:

He he - I've got the DVD box set Paul - absolutely brilliant stuff.

Steve that's the fella , well the writers for it , weren't gonna be doing too much more of it.. when it first came out in Ireland there was uproar about it, but they grew to like Ted and the rest of the crew. Their house was from the side of Ireland where my folks are from, it's not really far from where my mum was born.

Alvie, when I was in Canada hmm 9 years ago it was very cold, Mississauga (near Toronto) well for me anyway.. and my friend in Regina tells me it's crazy weather there also, well was.
