Things change

My first recordings were done by ping ponging tape decks.
with egg crates on the wall.anybody remember cakewalk when
it was a doss (and not a windows) program?

ive been through its earlyist stage to say the least and now im
still a cake user. have i been ill at them? yes is it deserving? yes
but im still here and use their stuff allmost exclusively.

i didnt even join the forum untill about 2009. Now that i have
i see so many veiws. i have learned. oh my i have learned.
ive learned that i am pretty good with music and cake is very
good at giving me a means to create music.

maybe its time to say thank you cake.

yea i crashed a bunch of times but hey ive got some cool stuff

I bought in to Cake when it came on a 3.5" floppy. Midi only. I used a 4 track to record. Incidentally, I was WAAAAY more productive then. I NEVER had hardware issues (despite the fact that almost my entire rig was hardware); it "just worked".

I bought Cake when it came on like 30' disks (or maybe 5 1/2"). Version 3 I think - It was purple and black and DOS only.
I had some method to sync my Tascam 688 8 track cassette to Cakewalk
    It was heaven.
There were a couple good toons from that error (or era) - Talk Talk Telephone - about a girl who - uh - took phone calls for money - probably the best.

I was a Voyetra SPG synced to 3 ADATS.

Before that Tascam 80-8 synced to Voyetra.

Before that some DOS based sequencer (can't remember the name) and a Tascam Porta one.

Before that a radio shack cassette recorder in the garage.

    Before that live bands.
