Set up Midi and Audio using Sonar7 and AudioFire4

I have bought a firebox Echo AudioFire4 and a midi keyboard MK-4902. I am trying to use them in Sonar 7 but with no luck!

I have installed everything, and when I opened Sonar, I am asked to choose a midi output, and there is only one choice, but when I selected it and played some sample midi, the sound came from my integrated sound card, but not from the firebox. But when I record an audio, it plays from the firebox!

so the problem is the midi plays from the integrated sound card, the audio plays from the firebox

the 2nd thing is, i cannot find any midi input in Sonar even the AudioFire console can detect the midi signal from my keyboard, anything i need to do to enable it?

Many Thanks!!! I have been struggling to make it work for 2 days!

Insert the TTS-1 software synth into your project. After it's inserted the MIDI output selection will include it also. That way the TTS-1 (GM Synth) will be the source for your MIDI sound and the output of the TTS-1 will go to the main bus and on to your AudioFire4.

You don't do MIDI sounds with the Windows software synth or sound card anymore, you use a software synth in the project. This lets you hear everything out the main outputs and also means it will be included in an export (mix) you do.

Note: The TTS-1 is the General MIDI synth that comes with Sonar, you can also use any other software synth you have installed. Sonar comes with some and you can buy others just like you would hardware modules or keyboards. Sonar will see any DXi or VSTi software synth you have installed.

Sorry to revive an old thread... but a similar problem and a Google search led me here. I want to say thanks to Frank for his help! Too bad this thread's OP couldn't take twenty seconds out of his busy schedule to do the same.

Ya, Lot's of threads like this haunt the place.
I think sometimes posters give up on recording and take up Demolition derby instead. That or skydiving!
