For the gamers

some might think HOW DARE he... haha.. what you mean you play video games instead of working on tunes and with some others disdain some use our music rigs for the odd game (or 5)

currently playing the very old game Far Cry (got it very cheap £1.50) .. tough , that isn't the word to describe it . But heck I'd be moaning if it was too easy

tempted to buy mario kart for the wii , but it's not even my machine.. I didn't even buy COD 5 yet.. and for me thats not usual (buying soft synths instead)

Ed , I know at least 2 bakers (who will remain nameless) play video games... from what I've seen on here etc

obviously they are playing them to check the in game music as they heard wonderful things about it

gotta do something else besides working on music, I mean I don't watch that much tv and the most of the reading I've been doing it manuals for synths etc.

To say never would be a lie.

To say I play games on even a bi-annual basis would be a stretch.

Now scrabble, there's a game. More to my taste.

Computer games just don't do it for me. As I say for me. I'm in no way against them. My grandsons are now getting into them.

I know this will sound weird but my hand-to-eye coordination sux on computer games. Yest I can play bass guitar. go figure.

Yeah, I can't play games, I can't dance, but I can lay down a hot salsa groove on the drums. How does that happen? And that reminds me of a story.

Way back in college I was at a party thrown by a Cuban friend of mine. There was salsa music playing and people dancing, but not me. My friends heartbreakingly gorgeous sister offered to teach me some steps and of course I agreed. A few fumbling moments and stepped toes later she gives me a pathetic sort of look and moves on.

But I redeemed myself. Later that evening, I discovered some congas at the place and started laying down some grooves. My former dance teacher comes up and starts dancing. She said--no joke-- "well, if I can't dance with you, at least I can dance for you." We've been together ever since.

The dual hobbyist. There are many of us.

Funny how I think I'm too cheap to buy Rapture, yet bought two new PS3 games in one shot.

I have authentic analog drum machine samples.

    Word.

I got it soon after it came out and I'm still completely hooked on it.

    I love that game.

candlesayshi , since Willy mentioned it.. I did have a quick look at the website.. which I really liked the artwork on it. very 50's esq..

I'd have to try it out I guess. but it's an RPG.. not normally my favorite sort of game.. Although I used to play things like star commander etc.hehe

got game of the year in one mag, so can't be bad..

    lol... me too.
Even though I get years of pleasure out of music software and sometimes only hours out of games, I still buy games in a heartbeat.

    Mad eh?

Jamses the only games that I normally buy are Call of duty without thinking about it.. or the mario kart / zelda's normally.

although sometimes free games are just as good , I always keep an eye on

    http://retrospec.sgn.net/

as their remakes of wizball / lunar jetman / exolon to name but a few are spot on.

Although I have things like taito legends / midway arcade etc.. games I used to play in the arcades 20+ years ago.. Shinobi is one game that I probably have the most time for, the genesis / megadrive ones were very good also. Also things like Bubble Bobble series.
