Plus you can already download the pdf user manual? I don't work for presonus I've used cakewalk since before sonar I don't remeber the version. I want to use Sonar in a live recording situation. The reac is bit to rich for me! this looks promising but after teh roland vs2480 and teh presonus vfire issues I'm reluctant to use a presonus product

Well fro starters from what I read the 16.4.2 does not appear to be a control surface. IMO It does seem to offer some nice features if you want to use it for a live band and record the performance. I think the presonus would be closer to a Mackie Onyx 1640 with the firewire module. The presonus has efx that the mackie does not though.

The v-studio has motorized faders and the synth module, which neither the Mcakie or the Prosonus has, and seems to be more oriented toward studio work.

i7-3770k OC at 4.5Ghz, asus p8z77-m, 16g g.skill aries 1600 c9 ram, Noctua d-14 cooler, RME HDSPe Raydat, Motu FastLane, Nvidea GTX 980 ti 6G, windows 7 and 8.1 pro x64. Sonar Platinum and x3e currently installed
