Not sure I understand your question. If you are asking about the PSU in the thing, it is auto-switch from what I remember from the demo.

I'm not sure which adapter you are refering to. Dangerous as in shock hazard or dangerous in regards to 50 hz into 60hz equipment? There are convertors that will change the hertz and some equipment will accept either. You should examine also what voltages the unit accepts. Just putting a quicky plug adapter on the end of the cord is risky if you haven't speced out the other parameters. A good power conditioner is always a good idea.

    this may help

I have an ASUS Monitor which is american...I use a American to English plug converter and I have no problems with it. the plug takes care of the Voltage and you will find it is the right amount for any equipment unless the Adapter is faulty.

I would like V700 to be succesful. Hardware can make or break a company I reckon...

If the OP is talking about going from an American plug to some European plug, you can certainly do that. What MAY be a problem is going from the 60HZ American to 50Hz. The problem that MAY crop up here is AC mains transformer overheating. The lower frequency requires a larger core to properly carry the anticipated load through it. Not all transformers in a power supply are correctly sized; most are, though. I don't know if the 700 uses a wall-wart or has an internal power supply, although I'd imagine if it's Roland-designed and made it's done in Japan, and they run 50Hz over there, so you should be good to go where ever one lives.

There were problems years ago with electronic equipment that was built here in the US (anyone remember that?) being used overseas with 50 Hz line frequency and things were catching fire. Research was done and what I mentioned above was found to be the culprit.
