music creator 4 crash

I have 52.2 gb of space on my computer.I only used 17.9 gb of space and that leaves me with 34.3gb of space left,so why are my music programs moving in slow motion.At first protools went out and now music creator 4,which was my primary choice of software,has gone out or should I say crashed.Well it hasn't completely crashed but it is moving in slow motion.I am afraid to even click on my most recnt project because I am afraid it will blank off and I will lose my project.Please tell me what to do to get my computer running right again?......???
