Is it a USB mic? Or a standard mic plugged into the mic input?
How fast is your computer? How much RAM does it have? What is the operating system and sound card?

USB mics don't generally work well... however in another forum..... I think someone posted a sticky on how to get the Sampson USB mic to work.

IMO... return the USB mic and get a real mic.... and a decent soundcard.

edit: I went looking for that sticky... it was posted before the forum site redesign... I can not find it now. It was from an advanced user... and it is now gone..... so I stand by what I said...

But I"m not sure the OP is talking about a USB mic - it sounds to me more like he's talking about a regular electret condensor PC mic that plugs into the soundcard 1/8" jack. we'll need for the OP to return and give us more info.

you should be able to just follow the "getting started guide" and choose your soundcard input as an input to an audio track, arm it and then press record on the transport as long as your soundcard is showing up in the drop down list of the inputs to the audio track it should work fine.
