building new computer -- advice please.

I use Kore 2 mainly with Kontakt 3 and Absynth 4. My 5-year old 3.2 Hyperthreading (2GB memory)gets very tired somtimes! Particularly if I use "Split the Strings".

NI tell me that Sonar organises parallel processing, so I would like to know how well it does it. Your experience would be much appreciated.

what I think I will build is a quad 3.0 probably with 4 GB based on a Gigabyte mother board and very tempted to stay with XP pro -- what do you think?

thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat, almost exactly but for me it's Ivory, DFH, Ozone3, T-racks-3 etc.
I'm undecided between a Core Duo or a Quad.
Mainly due to price and if the quad will really benefit me for what I do.
