VS-2480 compat?

Heya Forum,

I'm investigating the V-Studio 700... fascinating piece of gear. Does it have any level of compatibility with the Roland VS-2480? Is Roland making it possible to *easily* import 2480 files into SONAR via the 700? Are there any other levels of interoperability between the two?

new music soon from Tightrope Fortune!

The *brand new* Phoen1xDAW:
Core i5 3.3 GHz on Asus P8B75-M
32 GB Mushkin Blackline RAM
(2) Seagate 1 TB HD's
1 GB nVidia Vid
Win 7 Pro SP1
SONAR X3!

My DAW is not cutting edge. It is middle-of-the-blade super bang for the buck! The BAM is in the RAM. ;-|

    In short, no.
What you need is something like Presonus V-Fire to convert your tracks into standard wave-files.
    Check it out here:

The Vfire never worked for me. I couldn't get it to run consistantly enough to transfer tracks in real time. at least with my cd burner i'm burning at 2x real time!

    Hi Peter,

If your 2480 has a CD or DVD drive its pretty simple to use the track export command to burn broadcast wave files to a CD or DVD and then import those into a new SONAR project.
