DimePro Additional Instruments?

Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you DimePro users have suplimented your library of instruments from 3rd party developers. I am looking for pianos, nylon string guitars and other guitars... any ideas? I am guessing I would have to buy a format other than the .sfz sound formant and convert???

Thank you,
JB

I know Digital Sound Factory has 2 libraries.

Plus, I believe Chicken System's Translator can convert to .sfz format.

Tom, chicken systems.. I contacted.. and well their implementation is to another version of sfz and not the original cake one. I posted about it before.. the other Tom (b-rock) gave me the answer as I'd bought a sample pack that was "supposidly" SFZ compatible, yet they only used the chicken converter and if they had tested it, they'd have found the problem

I did contact one companies whose products I use about doing DP versions (they will remain nameless).. I mean I'd have done them if they supplied the sample packs.. response I got back well made me think why did I bother. Even if they had offered them as download packs, it's wasn't costing them any production charges for making discs / packaging. I dunno I don't get some peoples logic. I guess with a wider user base now, they might actually take interest.

There's been some discussion on KVR's sample forum about sfz as a 'universal' format, since besides the Cake instruments, you also have samplelord, wusik5, alchemy and other products that accept it (with varying degrees of compatibility, admittedly). Dangerous Bear in particular is supporting sfz format.

... the fact that it's always been embraced by Open Labs as their export format of choice for the high-end NeKo / MiKo workstations.

    Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know we have 9 Dimension SFZ libraries available.

Expanding on B Rock’s post, Digital Sound Factory Dimension products and Dimension LE now ship with the NeKo/MiKo workstations.

    Best Regards,

Digital Sound Factory and the Garritan (which comes with DimPro - don't know if they ever formatted their other stuff).

Architecture Wavesforms are another good source, tho they are just wave files.

Rapture has the Biolabs programs, along with some really nice synthetic SFZ files.

AT pretty sure Nucleus Soundlab Viral Outbreak also works in DP, but it's more tweakable in rapture.

    Fog,

how could I forget them? Some good stuff.

But if he wants ballsy synths, he needs to get Francesco's museum collection and adapt it to DimPro (shouldn't be too hard). And some of SONAR 8.3's new DimPro synth sounds are great, too. Very playable.

Dangerous Bear and westgatesounds.com both offer .SFZ libraries with presets for both Dimension Pro and Rapture.

Also - the .sfz universal concept is a way in which a variety of instruments can share the same source sounds - negating multiple installs of the same sounds.

One way of doing this is posted here:

    http://www.westgatesounds.com/AnomalyVSTi/multisamples.html

Full disclosure - westgatesounds.com is my site. But if you take the example above and remove the Anomaly VSTi Data folder from the equation, it is still possible for Dimension Pro, Rapture, Absynth and Kontakt to all share the same sounds from one location..... Instead of the base folder being Anomaly DATA, the base folder would be the Multisamples folder.....

AT , tricky as Francesco's work.. well it uses some of the features that are in rapture and not in DP. I might have a look at the patches to see what happens if I convert them.

he's been very quiet of late.. I should send him a PM =) or maybe he can reply here.

I might start working on something soon , a port from something else IF I can get the permission of the guy who made the original sounds. Well 2 things really.. but heck I won't say too much as the 2 people who make them can say no.. which is fair enough.

is something I posted yesterday anyway
